Tomorrow we are having Big Smokey Burgers for dinner. I am planning to do half with the adobo and half without because my youngest and husband don’t care for spice but my oldest and I love it. On the side I’m going to serve Baked Potato Sticks.
Big Smokey Burgers
All Recipes Yields: 6 servings
2 pounds ground beef sirloin
1/2 onion, grated
1 tablespoon grill seasoning
1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon adobo sauce from canned chipotle peppers
1 chipotle chile in adobo sauce, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
6 (1 ounce) slices sharp Cheddar cheese
6 hamburger buns
1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat.
2. Combine ground sirloin, onion, grill seasoning, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, adobo sauce, and chipotle pepper in a large bowl. Form the mixture into 6 patties. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Place burgers on preheated grill and cook until no longer pink in the center. Place a slice of Cheddar cheese on top of each burger one minute before they are ready. Place burgers on buns to serve.
Baked Potato Sticks
Select 4 very large or 6 medium size potatoes. Scrub well and cut each potato in to 6 or 8 wedges, lengthwise. Arrange on a baking sheet. Combine melted butter and soy sauce and brush over potatoes. In small bowl, combine corn flake crumbs with sesame seeds. Sprinkle over potatoes. Bake in preheated 400 oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until crisp and lightly browned.
