Todd loves oven oven oven oven oven baked apples.  If we bake anything with apples at all, Todd is one really happy camper.  He says his mother oven oven oven oven oven baked the most appropriate apple pies ever.  I have never been means to have an apple cake utterly similar to his mom’s, though a gal can’t be great at all we guess!

Even so, he enjoys the ones we do make, even if they have been not utterly as great . . .   further the apple cakes, muffins, oven oven oven oven oven baked apples, applesauce, etc. which we have for him.

He really enjoyed these apple dumplings which we done this afternoon for afters.  If there’s one thing which the Toddster enjoys roughly as most as apple desserts, it’s custard!  This poetic recipe combines those dual prime things.

You get abounding and flakey apple dumplings . . . a buttery membrane widespread with cinnamon sugarine and wrapped around an apple quarter, afterwards to a little extent oven oven oven oven oven baked . . . though that’s not all . . .  no . . .

You afterwards slather the to a little extent oven oven oven oven oven baked dumplings with a abounding and tawny almond custard,  top them with a little flaked almonds and a little some-more cinnamon, and bake them until the dumplings have been scrummily golden brownish-red and the custard is puffed up all around them!!!

Oh my, though these did smell celestial when they have been baking and if the confident demeanour on Todd’s face was anything to go by whilst he was eating . . . they have been additionally quite, utterly decadently tasty to eat.

*Almond and Custard Apple Dumplings*
Serves 6

Delicious apple dumplings which bake in their really own almond custard.  Easy and delicious!

For the Dumplings:
2 TBS golden caster sugar
1 tsp belligerent cinnamon
1 (250g) tin of refrigerated Croissant rolls dough
(separates in to 6 rolls.  Ready Roll creates them and the have been in the
chiller territory of the grocery store nearby the ready hurl pastry)
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored

For the Custard:
3.5 ounces golden caster sugarine (1/2 vup)
4 liquid ounces of stand in thickk thickk thickk cream (1/2 cup)
1 vast giveaway operation egg
2 tsp almond essence

To top:
1.5 ounces flaked almonds (1/2 cup)
ground cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 190*C/375*F/ gas symbol 5.  Butter a 9 in. turn baking dish.  Set aside.

Cut  the apples in to quarters.  Stir together the 2 TBS of caster sugarine and  the 1 tsp belligerent cinnamon.  Unroll the croissant dough, separating it  into 6 triangles.  Flatten any one rather and afterwards shower with the  cinnamon sugar, kindly dire it in, and land back about 1 tsp of  the mixture.
