This is along those same lines and is something which my mother regularly done and her mother prior to her. Sometimes we supplement ham, and infrequently we don’t. It all depends on if we have any ham leftover . . . it’s a good approach to use leftover ham.
My stock is English and German on a a single side, and French on a other. Perhaps this is a diversity of all those cultures . . . maybe a prohibited pot from England got translated loosely in to a potato scallop, since those were a sorts of things which were to palm and in contentment in a new universe . . . potatoes, onions, divert . . . and afterwards ham was something which was additionally usual as people lifted their own pigs.

1 tin of creamed corn (400g or 2 cups)
leftover oven oven oven baked ham, how most is up to you

4 middle potatoes, peeled and cut in to slices, again about 1/3 in. thick
1 middle onion, peeled and thinly sliced
6 ounces of milk, scalded (heat usually until froth crop up around a edges of a divert in a pan)
salt and black peppers to taste
2 TBS flour
2 TBS butter, cut in to bits
Preheat a oven to 180*C/350*f/ gas symbol 4. Butter a 2 litre stew dish.
